Arrive in Tanzania

Picked up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to a hotel in Arusha, where you will meet with a Safari driver guide for the Safari briefing and then rest until the next morning.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will be picked up from the Masailand lodge in Arusha by our safari driver guide. Start drives to Tarangire National Park on a good tarmac road across gently rolling Maasai plains with scattered acacia trees. On the way, you will see many Masai in their colorful dresses walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and driving donkey carts.

The park is well known for its large elephant herds, but it is also host to a multitude of other creatures. Experience the seasonal swamps, savanna and life-giving Tarangire River, endeavoring to encounter a multitude of creatures, from zebra to wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe, to name a few. If you are lucky, it is possible to see lions stalking prey or leopards watching, relaxing in the trees above. After an extensive game drive experiencing the varied sights and sounds of the wilderness, you will drive to Marera Valley lodge for dinner overnight.

Day 2: Marera valley lodge – Southern Serengeti /Ndutu Area

After breakfast, start the drive to the Lake Ndutu region, situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a sublime landscape of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. The drive takes approximately 3 hours, taking you across the beautiful landscape of the Rift Valley. Like most of the other Rift Valley, alkaline lakes, Ndutu is frequently inhabited by a wide array of wildlife. With appetites sated, undertake a game drive in the Ndutu region. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. After the late afternoon game drive, you will drive to the Lake Ndutu tented lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3:  Southern Serengeti /Ndutu Area

On this day, you will spend a full day game driving in the Ndutu region. Endeavor to explore the range of different habitats found here that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes, and the world-famous Serengeti short grass plains. You will see the awesome sight of the great thronging herds of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time frame around January, normally lasting about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calves drop in the region of half a million young in this awesome act of synchronized birthing. The sea of grass provides little cover and the young Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd. Depart to Ang’ata Migration tented lodge for the accommodation for dinner and overnight later in the afternoon.

Day 4: Southern Serengeti /Ndutu Area – Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive from the Southern Serengeti (Ndutu) to the Ngorongoro Crater. The Crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. The drive down into the Crater is an adventure in itself, and when you reach the Crater floor, you will quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The Crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands. After a full afternoon inside the Crater, you will head to the Marera Valley lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Drive back to Arusha.

Day 5: Arusha – Zanzibar (Stone Town & Prison Island)

In the morning depending on your flight departure to Zanzibar our driver will drop at Arusha airport.On your arrival the same day you  will visit stone town, world heritage site to explore the history and culture of Zanzibar, the tour includes a visit to former slave market site, it is now Anglican church built in 1870, Local market for fish, spices and vegetables, House of Wonder (Beit-Al-Ajab) is a national museum but closed for renovation, see also Old Arab Fort, Palace Museum, Old Indian dispensary (cultural center).

As you walk around the narrow streets, you will experience many cultural activities, architectures including well curved doors.

Later take the boat to prison island to see Aldabra land giant tortoise, brought in Zanzibar from Seychelles and see also prison building which was used as quarantine station in 1893. Overnight at Stone Town Area.

Day 6 : Dolphin & Spice Tour

Early in the morning drive to south coast at Kizimkazi for dolphin tour. Take a boat to watch dolphins, you may swim with bottle – nose dolphins which are friendly.

After dolphin activity we will visit spice farm to see how spices and some tropical fruits grow, you get chance to smell and even taste some spices clove, lemongrass, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, vanilla, coconuts, papaya, chili, black pepper, jackfruit, cardamom, cassava and oranges. You see also (Mr. Butterfly), the coconut climber while singing then you will taste young coconut. This day you will overnight at Nungwi area.

Day 7 : Nungwi Village, Natural Aquarium & Sun Set Cruise

In the afternoon Visit the fishing village of Nungwi, walk in the village to experience boat (dhow) fabrication and also economic and cultural activities.

Then go to the natural aquarium to see the turtles, there is an option to swim with turtles.

Later, transfer to Kendwa, the most beautiful beach of the island and most animated place, after walking around; take the dhow for sun set cruise (tropical fruits and soft drinks included) Later transfer back to hotel.
